Hey everyone,

I'm proud to announce the first brief teaser for my upcoming film, Farheight High: The Sci-Fi Movie Musical is now available for download. It can be viewed here:

The film is the first period, sci-fi, movie musical to be shot on the HVX200, in 720pn mode. The film features a rollicking soundtrack of 50's inspired tunes, with a sci-fi twist. More footage and official site coming soon.

Didn't like the teaser. Thought I'd at least leave a comment instead of viewing and leaving. Nothing really teasing me here. Actually made me frustrated cause it was in a full 720 frame and all I got to see was smoke and text.

Any footage to show?

Thanks for the comments guys, ESPECIALLY the negative. You have no idea how frustrating it is to post something, and get no response to it, and no constructive input, so I do appreciate the criticism.

I definetely understand the frustration with the teaser, and that was kind of the point of it. The thought process behind making this teaser, was to make it like the worst of modern day teasers, and the b-movie trailers of the 50's. Hence, it reveals nothing, and yet makes huge outrageous claims about the movie itself. I actually made this to show to a group of people at a party shortly after we wrapped on the film. I made a huge deal out of the fact that the first teaser for the film was premiering at the party, a ton of people showed, hyped it up all night, and then showed that. Belive me, you guys weren't the only ones frustrated by the teaser.

However, we will soon have a true trailer up soon (probably after slam dance 's deadline passes, we're pushing to have a rough cut to submit by the 16th) But when that comes out, you'll see some samples of musical numbers, alien attacks, and all sorts of good campy fun. And Seamus I might not get a full nude scene in there, but I'll see if I can squeeze a nip slip in, just for you.

I would've preferred more teasing and less text about what had been done in the past (even if it was jest)

While it may sound like a good plan on the outside, it's a Boy Crying Wolf situation. People wont' even want to check out the trailer because they'll be sore on what you did to them the first time.

Repost when there's a trailer to check out.

Ummm...I can only speak for myself but when the teaser bugs me because it reveals nothing, I tend to ignore the film after that (unless it's for something I'm going to see anyway like Episode III or Superman Returns). The bottom line is that deliberatly ticking off your audience when you're fighting desperatly to pay your little indie any notice may not be the best way to go.

I think as was present in my previous post, I did state that I understood the opinions about the teaser, and I tried to explain the joke a bit better for those of you who didn't get it. I thought it was funny, sort of poking fun of all these rediculous teaser trailers that don't reveal anything (aka The DaVinci Code) and combining it with making the outrageous claims that B-Movie trailers used to make in the 1950's. That was the idea behind the teaser, and like it or not, it definetely got some attention. In fact, when I posted a 10 minute faux soap-opera that I produced, roughly a year ago, I did not get a SINGLE post saying what people liked or disliked about it. I don't quite get it, but the fact that someone actually took the time to have a reaction to my work, makes me feel it was worth posting.
