Here are a couple of production stills from my last shoot. I have the HVX/M2 with the rods and made it a shoulder cam and made a custom bracket to mount the 7 in W/S LCD to the front It's mounted to the M2 rods right by the matte box. It works so awesome, I just really wanted to share. I will take some close ups tomorrow and post them.

wow. looks great. can you give us close-ups of how you connected the various things to the rods etc ;-)

I really need to know how you accompished this.

I need to be able to use my HVX+M2 combo in a more on-the-run kind of style.

PLEASE tell me what you did, so I can blatantly copy it.

This should probably be moved to teh general section, unless you plan on showing some still or video from that shoot.

B & H. I got the camera from them the adapter from redrock and Had a guy i know make a custom bracket to mount the moniter to the side.

Waw... I like this "On shoulder setup". Well thought, dude!
A few Questions:
What matte box is that?
What specific item did you use to mount it on shoulder?
Maybe you can give us some detail info for those of us who want to gladly copy you... :)
Thanks for sharing! :)

So I posted some pics of what the bracket looks like, I didn't have any kind of blueprint because this guy that owns a metal workshop just made this for me and then powder coated it. What else do you want to know? I will get some pics up of the bracket by it self so you can really see it and maybe that will answer your questions. I can have these made if you would be will to pay for the cost and this guys time. I love the way my setup is a shoulder cam now well... kinda. Oh I don't use anything under my rods to rest on my shoulder it's just the m2 rods base.

How do you hold it in your right hand? By the rods? or do you have a strap or something to slide your hand into to secure the cam and lens?

Hell, I'd be willing to get a decent way of shoulder mounting my HVX+M2. I'd probably put a handle on the right rod just for stability, but I'd pay to get this kind of system!

Handheld with this setup is a beast.. I didn't enjoy it much! I was 80% handheld on my feature, and it was brutal.. I wound up pulling focus and operating at the same time.. impossible for the 1st to do it.. especially with inexperienced talent that dont hit there marks!
Cant wait to see some of your footage!
