Hello everyone, I'm the one who is helping Jarred with mirroring on the qmesh transport network.
Using this network, we hope to be able to give everyone a reasonable speed download, even when many of you are connected at once. Please remember, the QMesh is beta software, and we're donating bandwidth to Jarred to help out with horrorfest, and to get some feedback on people's experience with our client.
The purpose of this thread is to help you out with any issues you have, so just post them here and I'll help you.
I'll tell you a bit about the QMesh client:
It is a .NET 1.1 application built for windows XP. What is .NET? It's a set of program components that allow developers to build applications rapidly.

I hope you all have a good experience using the system. I hope it's helpful to you!

I'll tell you a bit about the QMesh client:
It is a .NET 1.1 application built for windows XP. What is .NET? It's a set of program components that allow developers to build applications rapidly.
Features
- Download resume. If you stop a download for whatever reason, the QMesh will keep the data you retrieved so far. You next attempt to download will be much faster
- Scalability. The QMesh automatically uses as many sources of data as possible. It uses several network servers, as well as ISP proxy infrastructure and even P2P nodes to get the data. It speeds up as more users download simultaneously
Known issues
- The installer will try to install .NET if you don't have it already, however, if it does install it, it won't install the Qmesh! Just run the installer a second time to put the QMesh in (this is very bad, I know)
- The QMesh only runs on Windows XP, it *can* run on Windows 2000, but we have a bug where the installer won't let you install it
- The QMesh is completely removable. It should be completely gone when you uninstall it. If not, let me know!
- .NET is also removable if you don't want it, but you'll have to remove it from the "Add/Remove" programs icon in the Control Panel
- No Mac support, but don't worry, it's comming...
I hope you all have a good experience using the system. I hope it's helpful to you!
