Just for a goof, Timelapse

I did this just to see what would happen. Nothing serious. 25.9MB download, 1 minute long.

HVX-200, DVCPRO-HD 720p24, fed live directly to FS-100. Timelapse was set inside the FS-100 as 1 frame per second. Camera live, FS-100 recording on it's own.

It recorded sound, too, which is interesting as since it's a small motor, it sounds the same as it did in real life.

It's goofy, but, you see what's possible with werid timelapse settings.

Enjoy the mindless goofiness.

I am not one to watch without commenting, so where do I start....HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAAHH, just mindless like you said..it was fun watching you mo your lawn.

Yep, some days I have way too much time on my hands and turn into a freakin' idiot.

Point is, 1 frame per second gives a pretty nice stop animation look. Who knew?

Way to getter dun. I like the motor sound when it zooms by camera - that's one of the things I like about fast motion effects in FCP. You can really get some great sound effects from the sped up nat sound. Anyway, that clip cracked me up. Hooray for mindless goofiness.

No, no, no, no! This is NOT a special effect! Nothing was sped up!

It was filmed 1 frame per second in a 24p setup in the camera itself. FCP had nothing to do with this. It's playing back exactly as the 24p capture clip plays in camera!

The sound is actually one second of NATURAL, NORMAL SPEED SOUND, every frame. It is NOT an FCP motion effect at all. The sound is 100% natural the way the camera recorded it. Every 24 seconds recorded makes up 1 second of playback. That's all.

No effects applied at all! It's 100% organic in camera!

so uh, what effects did you use in FCP to speed this up? (jus joking)

nice video!!!! be cool if your lawnmower was really that fast

that was hilarious!!! i'm definitely downloading that and saving it on my computer to show my friends. HILARIOUS

also, is there any way possible to film this way on a dvx100b?

Funny!

Funny!

The first time I watched it was without the sound and it was funny.

THEN I turned up the volume and absolutely cracked up every time the lawn mower "raced" by!

Very Good.

Funny stuff Ben but how did you get it to record 1 frame a second in 24p. I thought only 2fps works in the frame rate hack and interval mode doesn't work in 24p as far as I've been told.

Ok, I'm caught. I goofed again. The dude here with me that day stopped by. And he remembers that we DID set the timelapse on the FS-100, NOT the HVX200. We just pluged the AC cord into the camera, set the FS, hit the record button on the FS, and that was it.

So, it was a timelapse done BY the FS-100, with live feed from the HVX200, which was not actually recording anything at the time.

I'll fix the original post...

Yep, makes sense now that I think about it, cause the HVX in timelapse mode won't record sound, I don't think. But I'm not sure...

Holy Cow, "LAWNMOWER MAN III"

I think you ought to get in touch with the mower manufacturer -- I'd almost be their marketing guys would love it! Only thing that could possibly make it better would be to have REZFACTOR's lead (Bikini Girl) from RUNWAY operating the mower!

(of course then we'd all be asking for slo-mo).

LOL I LOVE IT! Love when you take a second for a drink!
Nothing takes the edge off of yard work like good old fashioned quality American Kentuky straight Whisky!

When you zip by close to the camera, especially with the mower audio I was LMAO! Good job!
