Hey guys,
Just found out about this new Zoom portable audio recorder. I've never been real impressed with Zoom products, but the specs on this are pretty interesting.....

4 tracks uncompressed, with phantom powered XLR inputs, two internal condensor mics (probably not so great)
USB connectivity for desktop use....

What do you guys think?
If Zoom is producing this now, MAudio or Edirol might likely release a similar product soon.

Oh yeah, I forgot....It's CHEAP. I think the price point is around $300 retail.

I've been looking at this for about 2 months now, it's still on my list. The only thing that doesn't call my name is the lack of timecode and the mic gain interface. 2GB is the limit for the SD slot. I wish I can put in 8GB, that way I can let it run for hours. It's a very good alternative to the Edirols and M-Audio. Hopefully they are at the AES here in San Francisco this coming weekend. Can't wait to try some things with this.
