DVX100B not zooming on #2 setting on the handle zoom

Am I doing something wrong? I have a brand new, out of the box DVX 100b. On the handle on the top of the camera there is a "handle zoom" switch with a bright orange back ground and three settings 1, 2,3. The #1 setting appears to be a slow zoom and works fine, #3 seems to be a fast zoom and also works, and I assume #2 is somewhere in the middle. But my camera is not zooming at all when set in the #2 position.

Any idea what's going on? is this a programmable setting? Or am I calling Panasonic to schedule a repair? Great.

Go to your menu, select #3. SW Mode, go to handle zoom, select L/M/H.

This will fix your problem. You are currently set on L/OFF/H.

seriously though sonko, you really should read your manual. there are probably a bunch of things about the DVX you do not know about. I use to keep mine in the bathroom, made for great toilet reading.
