Tried and Failed

lol. i guess no too many people noticed, but Jarred was offering one on one personal help with the FTP login earlier today. Thats how i got mine uploaded and by passed the line. He said to send him an email if anyone was having probs, and thats what i did and 3 minutes later i was screaming on my upload uninterupted.

But im sure hes asleep now, i think having 1 extra day would be good, but i also think it should not delay the viewing process. We should still be able to watch and vote even if they all arent uploaded by tomorrow.
 
dropstuff doesnt come with stuffit expander. i hope you have it though, its the best App for compression on the mac for zip , but i havnt tried any others. I know its not free though and i checked the site and cant find a link to the demo of it for some reason. Ive had it for ever and just upgrade periodically.

I hope you get it uploaded though, i wish i could hang around longer and help, i love to help really, but its almost 4:30am now, and ive gotta be at the office by 9am. I can assume i things still are going bad ill find ya on here around 10am my time. good luck!
 
Okay, I have never used this "drop stuff" before. Anyone?

It seems that there is a place for the FTP address, path, username and password. I think that I have most of that info. Would the "path" be something like "horrorfest" or is there something specific that I haven't seen?

I apologize that I was not at all prepared for all of the steps in this process... I found that making a film was easier then this!!!

Well, I am connected to the server and have 25% of my file uploaded!

Thanks! I am near dilerious. It is 8:35 am right now. I was up all night working on this since 7pm last night. My file is halfway uploaded! YEA!

The night before, I was up ALL night writing the score for my film. And considering that I had to work the symphony yesterday, that means that I haven't slept since Friday night!!! YIKES!

But, I am almost done.... finish uploading, return the symphony gear to storage and GO TO BED!!!

(But I am already chomping at the bit to shoot another film!!!)

A really cool thing happened yesterday after the concert. The crew at the theatre wanted to see my film and we hooked my laptop up to the house projector and watched my film on the BIG SCREEN with BIG SOUND!

Very cool!
 
Wow that sounds awesome! I didn't know you did your own music too. You really do it all :)

I'll keep it in mind when I need a composer for the next fest ;-)
 
Oh, well.... I don't know about that! I just created a bunch of cool, creepy instruments in Garage Band and added some of those great horror show suspenceful tones. But I hope you like it. Some of it is pretty cool.

I do recommend, for all films I'm sure... use good speakers or good headphones!

My soundtrack is night and day different on headphones compared to the cheap-o laptop speakers.

And yeah, seeing my film on a real movie screen was very cool.

Just stumbled upon this thread, I'm so glad you made it, I've seen how hard you tried and how much care and I would have been heartbroken to see you not complete it for that reason. as soon as I read the first post, I was ready to give you my number and walk you through the compressor process. So, in short, good work handsome!
