Hello brethren and sistren! This is the first in a series of shorts we're shooting with the HVX/M2 combo (which I think we should call the HVX2M2). There's really nothing very cinematic about this --- it's very talky. But I've gotten a lot of good feedback and thought you might enjoy it. D&P
NOTE: BEWARE: CAUTION: It's not for the religiously hyper-sensitive!

Loved it. Very funny.

A few odd compositions but nothing that took away from the strength of the material.

Good work.

Thanks everyone. Glad you like it. We're about to launch mrdeity.com where we plan to have a new episode every two weeks. We're trying to get a little attention for ourselves. We have two features and a sitcom ready to go, and this is our first attempt at getting a little publicity and/or interest.

Filmstox... could you please point out the odd compositions? I'd like to learn and any help you can give me will be much appreciated. Thanks.

very well done. I like the humor. As far as cinematically the shallow depth of field was actually a little distracting for me. Especially when the conversation switched from one character to the other and the new person who was talking would be out of focus. Other than that I thought it was very weil done. I look forward to seeing future episodes.

Really enjoyed it. I thought the composition worked fine...no problem with the DOF either. Nice job.

Wow... Didn't see this earlier.. but man that is really funny. Pushing some buttons is always good for comedy and if you aren't.. then you might not be doing the right thing.
I especially liked the Celine Dion bit at the end... That's the only thing I'd have done... by moving it up as that's friggin awesome. I would also add Renee' Zelwigger (sp) and Dr. Phil...

You have a couple of very talent actors there... snappy dialogue and all round great concept. I really loved the cosmos and all that. Also, if I may ask, how did you pull of the white limbo? Was it a backdrop, rear light, green screen? I have to shoot one for my sketch show next week.. and I've got a day of tests to do on Tuesday. I have shot some green screen and white limbo stuff.. but not with the HVX... Any and all info is appreciated.... PM me if you can too.

Can't wait to see where you go with this... I liked the use of the M2.. didn't think it was distracting at all... GREAT JOB!

How can you even think of making something like this? I mean it is so disrespectful! What were you thinking?

I AM SO OFFENDED!

ok, truth be told- I'm not offened, :) I thought that was a well performed piece, the editing and delivery of the lines really made it for me. Nice job- I look forward to being "offended" by future episodes. This is definately on my watch list.

Keep it up!

Holy Crap! That was awesome!
Nothing too distracting for me. If it was, it was slight and the material eclipsed any issues.

Thanks again everyone. I PM'd Justyn with the "White Limbo" info. If anyone else wants it, post here and I'll put it up (didn't know if anyone else would be interested).

Yeah, I'd be interested. I don't have any projects in mind for it, but it'd be nice to have the receipe on hand when i do. Thanks.

I have a lot of deeply religious friends (I used to be deeply religious myself) and so far, I've received nothing but positive feedback --- which actually surprised me (a little). My goal is really not to be offensive, and I'm hardly the first person to point out the problem of evil. But I am relieved to find out that both Christians and Jews seem to be more than ready to laugh at this stuff --- as opposed to members of certain other religions (cough).

The next episode will be the real test --- "Mr. Deity and the Big Favor." Mr. D. has to try and talk Jesus into the whole "Crucifixion" thing. Not exactly an easy pitch.

I'm interested.

I thought it was very well done. It made me laugh out loud and I agree with the comments about the acting and dialogue, it flowed very well and the two characters worked perfectly. I'm looking forward to seeing your future "episodes"
