I don't want to hijack this thread, but this is important. The .mp4 version that I rendered looks pretty good, but there's this periodic 'artifacticing' that appears. My movie is 6 minutes and I ended up with a 39MB file. I'm trying QT now. Good luck to you.
 
Were basically done, waiting for the higher resolution version of our score to be sent (we are working with a lower resolution version right now). All the VFX are now in and we are testing different compression options. I expect to upload by Saturday afternoon / evening at the latest.

Then, I think I will crack open a nice single malt that I have been saving.
 
I did a check at the ftp server, so far I see the following submissions:

Girl Next Door (Conrad Johnson)
Love is the most deceptive feeling (VersuS)
Brown Waters (Edgen)
The Awakening (Movie Master)
Dear Jane (Lingothree)
Betrayed (Michael Petro)

that is 6 entries out of a possible 100....hmmmm it's gonna be crowded in the next 24 hours at the server...

We are on our third of X passes at compressing. Trying to optimize the performance without exceeding the file size limit that has been imposed. Should be done with the last test in the wee hours of the morning. Hope to get it uploaded before sunrise (on the West coast that is).

Are we all having fun yet?
 
I got GREAT results with these settings... 400x225. 800kbs Multi-pass render. Apple Lossless Audio, 44.1 khz. I got excellent results, both visually and audibly.
