Hi.

I wonder, would there be any interest in arranging a weekend for us Scandinavians where we could tear our cameras and images and settings inside out, possibly with some 24h film contest and a beer afterwards?

Just out of the blue.

Would Panny be interested in attending?

If there's such an interest, contact me.
I'd like to see it...

Gunleik:

Where would we be able to get Panasonic to attend? Stocholm, Oslo?

I'll vote for Trondheim myself! :)

I think Oslo would be easier to arange if we want Panasonic to attend, but 'cept from that we'd basically need a god theatre to show eachother (and possible clients) great HD footage.

I could check it out with Filmens Hus and Filmere.

come to copenhagen

come to copenhagen

I would be happy to arrange the meeting at Learning Lab Denmark, The University of Education, DPU, where I work as Development Counsellor. We can supply meeting space, SD projectors, sound and internet etc. If we need HD monitoring we should ask Panasonic and local companies here to lend it to us. That should be possible.

Please let me know how many would be interested, and when the best time would be, I guess late November would be good?. You'd have to cover your own airfare and hotel, but we can help you book a good and cheap one.

Kind regards, Søren K. Jensen

BTW, I've asked over at DV-info & Cinematography, too,

We have an excelent HD projector maker here in Norway

http://www.projectiondesign.com/

They are situated in Fredrikstad, where also Medieparken is:

That would have been a wonderfull combination technically, but I do by far prefer Denmark socially -;)

"Filmens hus" is also not bad for promotional reasons.
(Close to customer base in Norway)

But again - why not Denmark first?

If we were 10-25 guys we could do a Scandinavian tour -;)

Panny's Scandinavian prod developer rep (as far as I understood him...) -Vidar is located just outside Oslo. Maybe he knows what they're planning to answer Red?

Gunleik

that sounds like a good initiative, although it's more expensive to go from Kabelvaag (where I am), than it is to go from Oslo to Berlin or just about any city in the world. Norwegian flight prices are anti-student :)

6 so far and one at DVinfo.

Why not do Oslo, København & Stocholm, kind of a roadshow. We could check with Panny (and possibly Apple and Sony for FCP/Vegas)

Gunleik
(Getting hotheaded here, but why not. Like to travel, too -;)

sorry guleik I´m the "one at DVinfo"..
I have asked some companys her in Stockholm, if they are interested to support a meeting; "could be intersting.."
Will see.

Great.

I'll contact Panny and filmens hus here tomorrow. Out shooting today.

Cheers!

Think Pal...

Great.

I think we will think more international... and focus at the PAL issue and take it later,
The Icehotel is grate place for this type of meeting in Feb- Mars and all can try to
in the same time, explor the magic in light and ice and the art...
Its a bigger task but it gives more time to make ti happend
Björn

Which icehotel?

I don't say this has to happen tomorrow, but if we find venues where we can shoot and project and have workshops, that's sorta the ultimate call in my opinion.

But we'll need program sugestions.

Feel free!

Hi guys,

My Copenhagen hosting offer is still valid, and I'd be happy to talk to panny, together with Gunleik, to see which city is best for them.

Topic ideas:
  • scene file investigation in various lighting situations
  • extra hardware stuff: a look into on-camera monitors, focus/iris zoom controls and setup, matte boxes etc.
  • sound issues: strategies for best results
  • hacks and mods: 4 channels of external audio, vfr under 12 etc.
  • 35mm adapters, plus wide and teleconverters for hvx lens
  • data workflow and backup issues: firestore, p2, citidisc, mac and pc laptops, hdd's for acquisition, backup and editing
  • image workflow: in-camera strategies versus work in post, in relation to certain looks
and so on and so forth

I'm in.

Love copenhagen (1/4th Danish...)

I'll speak to Vidar Tomorrow.

But I think we'd like some good projection facilities,

That would be nice & Cph is fine with me.

Probably the cheapest city to go to from anywhere in Scandinavia...
