sorry dude if you are not treated the way you probably want to be treated but I dont think you put on a good marketing scheme, we may all watch your movie but I dont think its for the right reason and If you consider yourself an inspired filmmaker who loves what he's doing, you should really care about the reasons people will choose your film over somebody else's...and that's mainly due to curiosity and nothing more
so some other dude who put on a lot of hard work as you did but did not put his face all over the forum may be left out
what I mean is, find a clever marketing scheme like the guys with blair witch project did, but dont 'force' people to watch your film by becoming the 'crazy' dude in dvxuser, its a totally different thing!

Look... I'll watch your film, and then make a judgement... but from what I've seen it looks silly... Also, stop typing in all caps dude, there's no reason... lol
 
I dont mind with the film being silly, friday the 13th was silly but we all love it (I guess). It's his scheme that gets to me. Emphasizing on his caps, colorful fonts, 666, bad spelling, hairy stuff, scary stuff, sweaty stuff and so on....
Apart from a competition this is supposed to be a big opportunity to talk about the process of film making and this guy seems to focus only on 666 THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST......I hope his movie is a good one coz I love watching good movies, but I dont give a rat's ass if he is the devil, george bush or bin laden....i want to see a nice horror film, is that too much to ask????

Depends on the mood you want your film and scenes to put the viewer in. The scenes you show us, with the girls...I would probably give a warmer look to them but I have no idea what the context is...what is gonna happen next...what has happened before...you know what I mean?

In my movie since I had no lights, I tried to divide the story in parts to give each part a different look in post. If you watch it when it comes out on Sunday, look for the part where there is a story from the past unfolding...I used a warmer approach....when I did the present story part, since it was night time (not really though) I gave a darker look, blueish.....I also put in a lot of what I called vampire vision shots where I gave them a red look, with a bit of noise....

To be honest, I came up with all of these ideas to compensate for the absence of light kits since I had to mess up with my shots to make the viewer look for something else than what my lighting looks like....
 
I dunno about you guys, but that broken hall cabinet door is freakin' me out! Why is it broken? How long has it been broken? Why hasn't anyone ever fixed it? Maybe because . . . it CAN'T be fixed??? And tell me, why has no one ever put new pulls on the doors? You know, maybe some nice brushed aluminum pulls to match the table lamp in the girls' room?

We exchanged some PMs with Movie Master as he asked me about his shots, how he would set up his camera and his lights. I will post my answer to him on this thread after I asked him, so you can all take a look and give your -I am sure- valuable input on the subject. so...shoot at will :)

another way is to shoot flat, use neutral settings but hold on to as much information as possible in the scene, like use lots of light for example, and play around in post with color correction, where you can tone down the colors you wish, darken some other parts of the movie etc etc

if you look at my thread you ll see that I shot in the afternoon when I had a lot of light but it was supposed to be a night time scene, so I had to improvise a lot with filters later on and even though i am not really good, i managed to get a decent result but still while shooting i didnt look for unwelcome shadows that shouldnt be there if it was night time so you might see a lot of flaws in my scenes when i post my movie

all in all, dont think too hard about how to setup the camera and light, just focus on what you want it to look like in the end and pick it up from there
if you have no clue about how you want it to be when its shown to the viewers than we could all talk ON AND ON AND ON about it and still it would do you no good

I had a dream last night that the Gates of Hell appeared in MY hall closet's broken door. And what emerged? Movie Master of course! It was so very scary and when I woke up, I realized that I had wet the bed.
