Noa/Rice Digital Presents: "Into the Darkness"

I don't understand the star ratings. I see them at the top of the page and I've seen several thread with stars ratings. And I imagine that if people feel that your thread should stand out, they apply a star? right?

So, what's wrong with your thread having a star rating? Or is it that you don't like them in general? I noticed that msconce said the same thing.

And when you said that you have the most star ratings at 7, does that mean that 7 people gave you stars?

Just some dumb questions... since it was mentioned.

Just saw the test render of the final effect. It looks great!

I also just watched the short again, and I will say it gives me a weird discomforting feeling... an uneasiness... I cannot describe it... it's pretty wild.

Naw... I don't ever look at my family members in my films as my family members... but yeah, it's trippy... anyway...

Editing was done the first day, nothing's changed picture wise since then.... waiting on score and effects at the moment, then I'll throw some quick end credits at the end :) :thumbsup:
 
Wow! I'm interested in seeing what you cooked up in such a short time. I bet it's good. Spontaneity really lends itself to this genre sometimes.

UPDATE: I got the 2nd draft of the score back from Herman today. It sounds fantastic! He's doing a great job!
 
I have been experimenting with output and compression settings tonight... I am happy my film is short... I can have a much higher bit-rate... So far 1000 kbs. is a 30 meg file.

Ah Ted dude, I totally missed this Q... Sorry!

Anyway, the star ratings are on each thread... and someone always seems to throw a bad rating on my threads... (just mine...) all the time...

The reason I don't like them is because they give inaccurate signals as to which threads are more in-depth or interesting... I think they are dumb and we should just get rid of the star ratings....

And when I said I had 7 votes, I meant 7 people had voted a star rating on my thread... meaning it is a pretty popular thread... anyway, it doesn't really matter to me... I just hope people like the film! :)

It's cool you got it done so quick, and from the grabs, it looks quite nice. I hope to be where you're at in a day or two.

Just wanted to say best of luck, its nice to see a young guy like you develop on the boards. I know I've always ribbed you but its just a rite of passage here at DVXuser (to see who can stand the heat)

As far as updates, I'll get a few more screen grabs, and a sample bit of the score up as well... I don't have much BTS stuff, as it was just an hour shoot with me and my bro. Check the first page for the synopsis to see what the movies about.
