Avid 5.5 Upgrade worth it?

If I'm not editing HD footage, and aside from being able to display video full screen, is there really any advantage to upgrading to 5.5 if i have 5.2 already?

I believe 5.5 also has secondary color correction, which is fantastic... how much does the upgrade cost? As I am also looking into this.

The upgrade is $50. The full screen playback alone is with $50 in my opinion.

The only really cool feature I'm seeing is that is benefits only SD users is the fullscreen playback. I haven't seen anything that says 5.5 has secondary color correction, if it does then its definetly worth $50. But full screen playback is the only thing that you really get if you're only shooting SD.

I thought only Symphony and DS Nitris have Secondary. I didn't think Media Composer even had it.

Make sure your display settings are set to 32bits color. On 16bit, it won't kick in, and you'll get a 'not suppported' error.

Depends on the release. If it's major Avid usually charges something, but they've been generous with their prices in my opinion.

well rite now i have the 5.2 but i dont have internet access to download it or else i would get the 5.5
