That looked beautiful, my favorite shot of all was that guy with the Goatee and white Tshirt looking into the car door, about 30 seconds from the end. that was one of the most beautiful shots ive seen in a long time. Congratualtions. Im in shock. That was beautiful.
yeah have to agree. also there were a ton of other good looks in there. can't believe you did most of that in camera, awesome job

As usual, top notch Justin. I read in the other thread it was a 12 day shoot for Nemesis, The Movie.

12 days for full length feature or short film?

Monitor with a Marshal or similar?

Thank you Tyler! It really keeps us going receiving comments like that!
It was 12 days for a feature.. around 1 hour 25 min..

We did use the Marshall monitor.. Pretty much impossible without a good quality HD monitor.. I love that thing!

I am hoping it is a feature. Cause that was a lot of footage for a Teaser.

Dude my chic loved Get Rich or Die Tryin'. And she was more excited about your teaser. :) Specially since you mentioned 50.

Great freakin' job.

Yes, a feature it is... or will be when it's finished the lengthy post process.

Thank you for the comments SurJones! Glad you liked it.. Glad your girlfriend did as well.

Very very nice work. Lighting and camera were astonishing.

And the story looks good too. I like just how far that character seems to travel. I'm generally not a fan of biopic-type pictures, especially when it's like: "i'm rich and famous, I have so many problems!" but this trailer really roped me in and made me want to see this. And the acting all seemed top notch.

Although, it was unfortunate that the one person said: "they're comparing you to 50." Too bad he couldn't sound like a GOOD rapper. :)

Nah, it looks absolutely fantastic.

This really means a lot! This is what we are trying for.. We went into this project because it was different.. It's not really centered around the RAP world, it's more of a story of a STAR becoming someone he doesn't want to be and what happens as he rises...
Glad you got that from what you watched..
The actors really did do a great job.. Thank you for noticing..
Haha, 50 Cents surely isn't the best rap star, but he has a bit of contraversy that surrounds him, so I'm pretty sure that is how it go thrown in there..

Thanks Timur,
I love that shot as well, while playing with the setup I had, you really can really achieve some great images with some creative lighting and camera settings..
Thank you again..

Thanks Johnny, actually this post got mixed up with my other one, and the link changed from the old one to the new one with more footage and a lot of color correction, so please excuse that remark..

Thank you all again for your comments and praise..

12 day feature, the trailer looks good, footage looks great, story looks solid. A one camera shoot?

You guys must of been organised. Can you briefly give us a little insight into how you managed to pull it off in the time frame? number of crew, how many hours a day you were shooting, etc. Thanks
Justin.

One camera shoot yes.. We only had a week or so of pre-production, and in that week we found locations, finished casting, got deals on gear, insurance etc... It was pretty nuts.. Pulling it off was quite a feat, but we did it..

We had a 3 TON grip truck, 7000 watt Generator (noisy one) 2 1200 - HMI's, a 575 HMI, a couple of peppers, 2 - 1K Tungsten's, 2 - 2k's, and a few 600's.
and a Fischer 11 dolly..
My camera package consisted of a set of zeiss superspeed primes (18, 25, 35, 50 and 85mm) a Cooke 25-250 (used once) Sachtler Head, set of stix, marshall monitor, and a follow focus..

We had a very small crew, it was the director, AD, Myself, an AC (some of the time), one GRIP that was also my electric (some of the days), one Intern that helped out with grip/electric stuff, some of the days I had a person downloading the cards, we also had a sound guy, a coordinator, one PA and a script supervisor.

It was a challenge to get what I wanted in our 12 hour day.. We went over 12 hours three times.. But we got some amazing stuff with the crew we had and the time.. The crew worked their butts off and rarely had a second to relax.. Everyone did an amazing job and stepped it up 200% That's the reason we got it done..

If you have anymore questions, let me know..

I'm not impressed by it in the least. It's something my kid would do. Throw it in the trash and start again punk.

I'm very sorry you were not impressed, I'd love to meet your kid though, I'd hire him for my next project..

Yo that trailer looks really good. Next year I'm shooting something similar and will be using an HVX and Brevis35. I guess I will be getting PL mounts on it and renting some of those lenses cause dat looks shhweeeet. Good luck with the movie.

Hey Justin,
I think we focus too much here about quality of the picture, lighting and sound. I think you figured all of those out...

It's the story that counts...and it seems you might have a winner here.
Solid acting, uniquie story - as I think the world is getting tired of the same old menace 2 society type crap.

Congrats!
