Just watching TV news coverage from there now.

Looks like a full out, but peacefull, coup.

Don't hear of too many of those.

Actually they're not all that uncommon. In fact Thailand itself has had a few over the last few decades: 1981, 1991. Libya 1969, Ghana, Pakistan 1999, France 1799, Georgia 2003, Mauritania. I guess you don't hear about them because there's less to show on the news. As often as not deaths are from protestors, and not from anything resembling a civil war.

Anyway, let's hope this one stays bloodless as well, and that PK can make it here to post and tell us everything is all right. It's traditional in Thailand to simply have new elections following a coup, as opposed to a military tyranny.

I would be suprised if we here from PK anytime soon by the last sounds on CNN it seemed that they had taken CNN and BBC and the whole cable network down so I would be suprissed if he has internet right now. Good luck PK We are with you.

Compared to the Bloody ones that have gone down throughout history, I'd bet they are few and far between.

He has been posting updates over on the Isara forum, so he's definitely alive and well! Check it out if you get a chance.

Well that's hardly surprising.

Good to hear he's still out there. I'm sure this will be fine. Thailand has a history of coups, and no history of anything like Rwanda or Cambodia.
