In the course of cutting together my reel on FCP5, I'm running into some trouble with telecine'd NTSC film footage with HVX footage shot at 24pN. Any suggestions in regards to reverse telecine, etc?
I had this problem the other day while editing an actors reel. They had footage from DVD - Mini DV (shot 24PA) and they had footage we shot for them at 720PN.
Since they had more footage from DVD we ended up doing QT refs from Avid of the 24PA and then the 720PN scenes and using QT converting them into NTSC DV (good ole' fashioned interlaced footage).
After that process we were able to bring everything into DVD SP and author a DVD that worked fine.
By the way, the 720PN footage looked great on DVD even after the SD downconversion.
