Hey Ted,

Glad you like the posts and BTS stuff. I will try to post a few more bits on the lighting setups, but I am off to London mid next week for a job and we still have a couple of B camera shots to get.

The weather in So Cal right now is gray and boring, so we are in a bit of a 'weather hold' pattern. Looks like Sunday is gonna be our window of opportunity on these last few shots.

If it weren't for the last minute...

If it weren't for the last minute... NOTHING WOULD GET DONE! At least that is how I work! I love to be under pressure (I seem to get some weird kick out of it!)

Post stuff when you can. I'm not going anywhere soon. I love this site and plan on sticking around long after the festival is gone.

Have a great trip to London. Beast of a commute!

Poster looks great!

Later - Ted

Two quick PU shots tomorrow and were done shooting! Once everyone signs off, we will have picture lock. Scoring is underway and sound design, title cards and credits (credits won't be in the competition as we would exceed the alloted TRT) and were done.

Funny, looks like we are gonna make it with a day or two to spare.

I am sure I will think of something that I screwed up mid Atlantic, but it will be way too late to do anything by then.

More lighting notes in a day or so.

Cool, looking forward to those lighting notes! :) Sounds like ya'll moved like mad on this project... what's the ETA on final everything? Picture, Sound, Music, etc.

That is great news guys! Way to bust out a film! I understand about cutting credits... I tell you, I am trying to get in a heck of a story in 6 minutes! Sheesh! I wish I actually had credits to cut! It won't take long to roll.... "This movie was written, shot, cut, and performed by Ted Arabian!"

Have a good travel. Talk to you soon. And as brandon says... "Cool, looking forward to those lighting notes!"

for the fest credits are sometimes one frame or scroll by in less than a second and you can then pause to read them if you like

also people put their full credits in the first post of their threads, often.

We will use a title card sequence for the principals and just leave the rolling credits off the entry for the contest.

Unfortunately, a single frame wouldn't accommodate all our cast and crew listings in a legible manner and we can't spare the second!

Damn! That must be some list of cast and crew!!! But I understand about lacking the ability to spare. I imagine that my film will be cut at 6:00:00 to the "T."

Well, I'm excited to say that we're going to be bringing in an 8 page script at just under six minutes.

Yeah, now if we could just some bandwidth, I would be much happier.

I'm not happy about the SD penalty at all.:Drogar-Angry(DBG):

You guys are doing a great job at this "pimp your entry" stuff. I'm digging all the pics. I get Dave for the next fest!

By the way, what light is that in the background in the last pic with Dave? It almost looks like one of Victor Milt's DIY Nono-Lights.

Glad that you are enjoying the images and the BTS stuff. David was a real pleasure to work with, a true professional and a real trooper.

The light source that is in the upper corner of the café is a Lowel Caselite 4. Its a HF fluorescent 4 bank (very much like a Kino), in this setup up I used the tungsten balanced tubes.

The really cool thing about this light, and the reason that I own it, is that the head, stand, ball joint, plate, mains cord, and spare tubes all fit into a really compact two part thermoformed case. The down side is the price (it lists for a little under $1600).

I used a large variety of different lighting instruments on this project; Dedo, Arri, Lowel, par cans, practicals, China balls, etc. I will post more about the different setups as soon as time allows.
