Apple brings out the new Final Cut Pro version 5.1.2. in 30 days with better P2 and 720/25P support.

But Europeans want more! 720p50 is still not supported and therefor you can't shoot the up- underscan mode with the HVX200, or edit this EBU pushed HD format. Sure HD is more in the minds than in the homes, but we need this possibility.

Please Apple, do it good in one time!

I think its time to flood apple FCP feedback page again... Can anyone post the link? I just can't find it...

And again, I want it ' working out of the box ' native FCP. Like 60p is. In a studio you want to work with standard solutions for every editing station.

We all want this out of the box. But before telling people it's not possible I prefere to show HOW it's possible ...

You can make it run, it works. I attended several workflows now in europe and people are happy to use this with their favorite application.

And BTW: When using the up- and underscan mode of the HVX200 the recording format is 720pn25 and this will work out of the box with FCP 5.1.2.

You can make a Volkswagen Beetle drive 270 km/h if you put in a $ V8 turbo and do some more modifications. But if you think you can do that just after leaving the dealer with a new car, you are wrong...

So we tell you that if you buy a Beetle you can do 130 km/h and no faster. That is clear info. And if Apple brings out an update we can edit 720P/25. And for up-undercranck you go over 50 like the Varicam.

I personally need a cam/editing situation that works, for everyone here, and everywhere. You wan't to sell V8 turbo's...

FCP is running 270 km/h yet ... I didn't change the motor, I just changed a bolt ...

RTFM

Variable frame rates (VFR)
By taking full advantage of the special characteristics of P2 cards, this unit provides frame skipping (undercranking) recording and highspeed (overcranking) recording, which are actually movie techniques, without the use of a frame rate converter. (The 25PN mode must be set for this.)
