Hey guys. It's been a while, but here is some night exterior stills from a short that I shot. Experimented with high pedestal (+5) and brought my contrast back in post...

They look really good IMO. I see a little grain in teh 2nd to last and even less in the last grab. This is how I would like all my night shots to look. good job.

they look awesome, i love the composition of the last shot a lot, the lit and unlit parts of the brickwall really divides the two shot well, was this intentional?

Wow, thanks for posting this. Looks like a pretty good way to go. I was cringing earlier rewatching some footage from earlier this year I shot at night - very noisy and not much detail on the actors' faces.

Wow... I never thought of that!... Capture the details... THEN crush the blacks!.... Can't wait to try it for myself... thank you

Thanks guys! Yes, the key/backlight is a 2K open with a chimera and the under bounce that acts as the front light is from a 1K Fresnel bouncing off of a card that was laid on the ground. There are several other lights playing mostly bounces off of silver card, but that is more easily viewable in the footage w/ movement. I had my Iris set at -2, and the detail at -3 with the master pedestal at +5. The light on the wall is intentional, I thought it offered a nice contrast and added a visual separation between the actors - again, silver card bounce off of the 2k chimera.

any chance we can see what the grabs looked like before CC? It's always cool to see how far things can be pushed in post. Thanks.
