Hi Everyone,

I just got my HVX from videoguys in Melbourne and have spent an hour or so playing around with it. All i can say is WOW! This camera is amazing. I was so worried about the picture quality, would it screw up trying to bring it into FCP, is the detail too soft, noise issues.

After all the worry this camera is the bomb. First thing i shot was in a fairly well lit room and indeed there was noticible grain but boy did it look amazing. So film like. I do not see it as an issue what so ever. Next step was getting it into my mac book pro using FCP 5.1.1. Too easy. This camera is simply amazing. I shot a wide landscape scene with the detail at +3 and it looked brilliant. The colour is lovley. The progessive is so nice. I have used a Sony HDR FX1 and all i can say is i would not tough that with a ten foot pole after using this. This is as sharp if not sharper!

I got two 8gig cards with a firestore on the way plus a Marshall monitor so i should be cooking in two weeks time. I also have an M2 arriving in about a month so this will be the ultimate package. Mann should have shot Miami Vice on this baby it looks that good.

I would like to thank all the members on this board and especially Barry Green for their info that like my first DVX, promted me to purchase the HVX.

Thanks once again:thumbsup:

YOu post all this stuff and not even a still of the footage you shot :( you know not all of us get to live in Australia!

*runs and crys*

seriously, congrats! YOu got a ton of stuff there! Nice buy!

It's a great camera isn't it! I got mine from Lemac in Sydney, hopefully getting a wide angle lense adapter for it next week.

Good luck on the Mariachi Festival... I only found out about it today, otherwise I would have sent something in. (Unless I can send something in via web link haha)

Just had the P2 cards in the hvx and the hvx connected to my Mac Book Pro via firewire. I imported direct from the P2 cards via Final Cuts Import P2 option. I also copied some files to the internal HD first then imported them. I was shooting 1080p so i just set the field dominance to none in the sequence settings. Has work perfectly. :)

Weird! Maybe the new intels are a little nicer in importing from P2 - so far, and until 5.1.2 comes out, FCP won't have a bar of my P2 cards - gotta go via third party P2 Log.

Stolked it's working for you though!
