My award winning 48 hour film festival submission!

Hi guys, for the first time ever I participated in a 48 hour film festival and it was one of the greatest experiences I have ever had. It was only sweetened by receiving awards for Best Actress, Best Cinematography and Best Overall Film.

I was shocked.

Our required props were a tool box and a box of kraft dinner. Our required location was a parking meter. Our required effect was sepia tone and our required dialogue was "enough about me, lets talk about you, what do you think about me?"

Decent enough attempt, considering the time you had to work with - but nothing terribly amazing.

There were some nice shots, but I thought it was about five minutes too long and the performances were just uncomfortable to watch.

Don't mean to sound negative - it's just how I see it.

Congrats Budgieboots. :)

I was also at the screening sitting behind you guys. We came in second I guess for Cinematography. I also posted our clip here.

Don't be shocked about winning. Not enough can be said for the power of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.

Do you have a website? Your myspace doesn't seem to be available anymore. I'd like to link to it on my site, if that's alright.

Again, congrats to you and your team.

Yeah we decided to convert the myspace page to a music artist one so we could put up the original music clips written for the short. But that takes 48 hours to change... so it will be up eventually.

Anyways, I also really enjoyed your short! It was really well done and hopefully we can get to your level of talent since as you saw - we're all really ridiculiously young and inexperienced. Our age range was 16-19.

Anyways, perhaps we shall run into each other again at the next film festival!

Hey,

What is with people and YouTube.com?

If you've shot something with the DVX in 24p have it played on something viewable like highband Quicktime. Video streaming degrades the image too too much.

Pony up... hehe... A 48 or 24 hour film is a different beast.
What city did you guys do?

show me a site where I can post my work for people to see that is free and has highband quicktime...

...this is me waiting.

cheers.

The city was Edmonton and all the music was written and recorded by Codie Mclachlan who was also the director of photography. The "oohs" were performed by Haley who was "Meridian".

I should probably also add the music was written and recorded DURING the 48 hour period, not before.
