Telephoto and Adapter questions...

How good is the telephoto on the JVC lens? With the 2/3 and 1/2 bayonet mount converter what other lenses can you use exactly?? Thanks, and sorry if these are ridiculous questions?

Also, if you buy the camera and use Sony tapes to begin with will there be a problem as long as you stick with the Sony's or do you HAVE TO use JVC which doesn't make sense...

I'm really close to buying the 110...but am still in limbo....

Its ok to use sony tapes other than the JVC tapes as long as you stick with it in your productions. We use the panasonic tapes for all our cams regardless what brand. The stock lens on the jvc is "ok" . Its handling is really professional. BUT just try to avoid extreme tele to avoid CA problems. overall, this camera is very gud. its image quality can be custom tailored to heart's content. We had no regrets in going for the jvc HD100/110.
We used the DVX 100/100a for our SD projects before. Were still using them as they were the best in the SD division.

Chromatic Aberation. Its an optical issue and not an electronic problem. At extreme telephoto the stock lens tends to exhibit it prominently, you will notice it at edges of high contrast. An edging of green on one side and purple on the other side. Its a minor thing if you know how to avoid it. Most lenses, wether still or video cam lenses, have CA, in different degrees.
