no sound when recording to DVDR

I cut a scene in FCP, but couldn't burn to DVD because early version of IDVD doesn't do 16:9 conversion (retarded, no?) I printed the scene to tape and tried to record to DVDR from my Panny(100a), but there's no sound. What am I doing wrong?

Just to make sure the obvious aren't an issue...

1) After having dumped to tape on your DVX did you do a video and audio check at that point? In otherwords, is everything on the tape okay?

2) What connection(s) are you using to feed to the DVD Recorder?

3) What brand/model is your DVD Recorder?

4) The cables using to feed into the DVD Recorder work fine with another tape or connected to a different device?

Also, btw, not sure this is quite the right thread, as this isn't really an HVX technical question. But anyway....
