Congrats Fred! I wouldn't mind holding that z1u for you if you need me to.lol. Seriously how do you go from 1080 60i hdv to 1080p24 dvcprohd timeline in final cut. Just looking for a simple workflow. Do you think it is possible to shoot a movie like sin city on a hdv cam or XDcam hd? thanks

Nik, we go from 50i to 24p.

yeah I know but I thought I would ask because I would probably do that:). thanks
and great work. I had a film guy look at your trailer and he said, "the f900 is good but it just doesn't capture the highlights like film." He though it was the f900 cause I said sony high def cam. Amazing!

Hehehe, that F900 story is funny. I'll tell you, the film looks better than the trailer. Even projected in 720p24, filling the 2.35:1 screen in the 800 seat theater, it was impressive.

The fact that we were nominated for best cinematography when we were competiting with dozens of films shot in 35mm, is pretty cool I think.

To go from 60i to 24p use the nattress filters.

I agree with what was said on page 2--don't get yourself up in arms about the engineering of the cameras, just pick the right one for you and use your time-honed talent to make great stuff. Frederic is a great filmmaker, and his DP is a great shooter. For them (and me), the Sony Z1 was the camera of choice for that film.

hahaha thanks Fred.. you have no idea how bummed i am im not there.

Todays a big day for you guys.. so go kick some butt.

Jarred,

IBC has been amazing. One more day. (man is this a long show)

I'll be in LA soon since Tomorrow is Today has been accepted in the Westwood Film Festival.

The film will be playing at the Majestic Crest Theatre sometime between October 6th & 13th.

I hope to see you then.

we have alot of catching up to do.. cant wait.

Is it just me or does it feel like IBC has been on for 2 weeks?

I heard your lying and taking photos with a still camera !! ha ha ha ha.

Yeah, it's a long long show... especially because there is a constant flow of visitors and the IBC crowd seems more interested in an exhaustive technical presentation on the camera. But it's a heck of a lot of fun.

Some guy from Italy came in screeming at me, telling me that there is no way the still in the brochure is from our sensor. I said that I took that as a compliment. He got really pissed and said we were worse than the Pope (I didn't really get that one). I asked him to come down because he was getting out of control, he said he was calm... he just bought 4 Vipers. I said, you must have a big garage :) (Actually that's what I wished I had said)

See you in LA

I know... it's sad. But our only intention is to build the best possible camera for the price. We're not trying to convince anyone that we're building it
, we're mearly informing people we are and taking feedback on how to make it even better.

The majority of visitors however are just as excited as we are, and that feels great.

I don't know about ever, but not in the near future.

Now keep in mind that the RED ONE is the only camera you will buy in the next 10 to 15 years because it is upgradeable and modular.
