These grabs are from my final project for a class at school, "Digital Video Production."

The whole thing took an hour and a half, including putting together the set.

I've still got more to shoot, so critique would be very helpful. :)

looks really good i like it i hope you pst the final vid. Is that steadicam treating u looks sick! really like the first grab.

2nd one really reminded me of Sin City with the paper being pure white. First ones my favorite.

The first one's my favorite, especially the lava lamp in the foreground....composition is great, and of course the window blind cookie pattern on the wall is pretty amazing. Did you adjust your settings with anything special in mind knowing that you were going B&W?

you know, for it to be true Noir it has to be 4:3. The films in that era were all 4:3.

So does that mean when we make my noir, you're going to let me shoot it in 4:3 the way I like?

These do look interesting though...

Man, those look really, really nice. And as far as shooting true noir, I think (according to the Academy) you have to actually shoot the film in the 20th century.

Good-looking stills!

IMHO, Noir is not a period style, it's a technique or method. No shame in mixing it with 16:9 or any other modern technique.

Actually, I would have shot 4:3 for nostalgic/aesthetic reasons, not necessarily because I think it's "true" noir. Regradless, I want to see your movie. Post it already!
