The now locked thread about the kid's contemplation about joining the Army is proof positive that this DVXUser community, no matter your politcal persuation, no matter your religion, and no matter your country of origin, is composed of people who have higher than average intelligence, and moreover the patience to hear others with whom they vehemently disagree. This thread/post is not to reopen that thread, so don't even try to continue that conversation here, just to say that that was one of the best, and least toxic, political discussions I have seen on the internet(s) anywhere.:thumbsup:

Anyway, any thoughts as to why us filmmaker folk are so much smarter than your average bear?
 
nice sentiment, but the only person smarter than "other people" is the moderator who gave himself the last word and then locked the thread :beer:

I'm guessing you don't mean the search engine. Wasn't looking to join the debate. Conversation about politics and religion don't make for good company.

John, since you are moderator I mistakenly thought you had locked it after your comment. You are not smarter than "other people." JOKING :beer: :beer: :beer:

Yeah, that drives me nuts. Closing a thread with a political topic is one thing, but when a mod gets to post his own opinion and then lock the thread down immediately afterwards - well, that's just lame :)

It should be all or nothing, IMO.
