New mic grips for handholding and boom mounting.

I've got a new batch of mic grips ready. This time I decided to make a few long grips just to test interest.

I used to have a Beyerdynamic m58 for interviews and I always liked that mic for the extra length... but for interview situations I've gotten away from using newsmics in favor of condensers... like the oktava or a short shotgun.

That's the typical use for these grips... Remote Audio makes one for $35 that looks a lot like my short grip, but I like my foam better... other then that the construction is identical.

I'm offering the short grips to DVXuser members at less then half the price of the Remote Audio Grip... $14.95 plus actual shipping.

The long grips are in limited supply (6 available) and they are only $17.95 plus actual shipping.

Works with any standard shockmount (with the 3/8" threaded bottom).

I forgot to say that the core is strong, lightweight Delrin... the stud is polished stainless steel to eliminate any tiny imperfections or burs so the threads will glide into any shockmount.

I use these same mounts myself... the rediculous cost of the Remote Audio Grip and the Rycote Grip are what prompted me to offer this to you guys.

As usual - you are awesome for making this stuff and selling it to the community at such a reasonable price. Should I ever have a need for this item, I will know where to find it.

Again thank you.

Airmail Letter Post is $6.75 and I can't insure it or give delivery confirmation... but I've sent stuff all over the world already... all I ask is that you be PayPal CONFIRMED or else pay some other way.

Thanks for the comments guys! It's always good to feel the love man... Honestly for me the coolest thing is seeing a post and remembering a transaction with that person. Some days it freaks me out thinking about how many people are counting on something that I made for them.

Talk amongst yourselves... I'm getting vaklempt.

Matt, I'll take one long & one short -- is a certified bank check OK? PM me the total with shipping and I'll mail it this afternoon.

Topcat... thanks and done.

NewYorkLion... I've got some stuff cooking right now... I've been waiting since MAY for some special sockets from Germany. I will say that the stuff I'm playing with at the moment is much lower tech then my other lights... I am really proud of the other ones! But these should work really well at a dirt dirt cheap price... how cheap depends on just how good I make them. It's always a struggle of features and performance versus cost. I prioritize performance above all else... then I decide what is the minimum amount of features that I would want on my own light... then I figure out what is the absolute lowest possible price that I can set.

Right now I'm kicking around the battle of features versus price. It's all stuff that I've talked about in many threads. I'll get back to some more complicated stuff later on... but lately I've been involved in somethings where I need as many lights as I can get my hands on... and this got me to thinking about how to offer 4 and 5 light packages in the price-range of a single Diva. But don't get too excited... there's no free lunch you know... I'll work for slave wages but I draw the line at selling things for a loss... In order to make lights that are versatile and CHEAP I had to start getting resourceful about construction materials and methods. So that's where we currently stand on that issue... by this weekend I have to have some stuff ready for prime-time (for a feature I'm shooting) so the pressure is on. I'll let you know when I have something I'm proud enough to show.

Also I just want to update this thread to say that standard 1st class mail w/ bubble mailer is only $1.95... that's $.48 for the mailer and $1.47 actual shipping cost for anywhere in the USA. (small grip only... large grip is $2.25 ship)... USPS Priority 2-3 Day for either, both, or as many as you want is $4.55 and if I can ship it priority for less I will refund the difference.

cool matt, thanks for the update. I'm interested in the super cheap stuff, but also in your classic, feature loaded ones. (kind of need to be able to dim)
