Go35 Pro - Footage

I received my Go35 Pro from Jim in person yesterday.

I'll be spending the next week learning how to use it in whatever spare moments i can muster.

As soon as i have some footage to display i will be sure to share it.

In the meantime I figured I'd share a few photos of the adapter itself.

It looks like you could drill oil with that. No, seriously, it looks solid. I'll be on the lookout for footage.

Btw, Machinist, do you thing we're gonna need a bigger boat? ;-)

ive shot with it a buncha times. its a Great machine. Good achromat. But like anyhting it needs light to work properly. Make sure you infinity focus youre 35mm lens then adjust the DVX focus. then tape it down with gaff tape so it doesnt move. it could look soft cause your finger touched the DVX focus ring and threw it out of wack.

If you remember Marty Martin of "Got Milk?" fame, it's a pleasent surprise to read that he's doing indie work for a major studio at the moment. And is, as it turns out, shooting an indie horror feature using a Go35Pro Beta unit.

Here is some rough test footage, with some quick CC. Please right-click and save:

Hi Timur (and everyone else :) )

Work's coming along -- I've got a new toy to play with for creating my diffusers, so they will be significantly improved over the beta units. I'm a little behind producing a few units, so I feel the burden of inconveniencing other people. But I'm close to getting them 100% complete and will have some on hand by the week's end.

Fantastic video in that horror flick.
Has anyone tried some sort of other solution for a support system, aside from bulky and heavy rods? Such as strings attached to the top of the dvx handle? I know it sounds crude looking. It's just that with the adapter and lenses, the camera gets heavier and heavier. I have a stabilizer for the dvx and I can barely hold the hold thing up the way it is. The rails seems to add an extra bulky pound and I think it may be impossibly heavy to use with a stabilizer, or even just handheld.

Some people have been using Manfrotto telephoto lens support. I think Timur had one in those early Go35 beta shootings?

Really liked that footage there. Go35 gives a really really nice feel to the image. I was involved in a little conversation about 35mm adapters where people were showing footage from their CD-spinners. I then showed them some shots with Go35 and someone replied: "now THAT'S what it should look like!"

I use a cannon lens support, similar to the manfrotto - it works great for heand-held, and i'm sure for steadicam too.
