Tears in the sahara music video show with 35mm adapter

Yes, I like the lights in this video, very natural looking. Nice colors and tones. Especially the stage shots are nice. The shot where the guy is playing guitar on sofa with the girl next to him, that is dark compared to other shots, and the film effect is not necessary.

The homemade adapter apparently adds some vignetting and soft edges to pictures. You can see this clearly in some shots where there is a black edge at the top-right corner. This needs some fixing. The sharp center effect (focus) the adapter (?) makes, adds a nostalgic feel to pictures. Looks like video shot with a Holga camera! :)
The best shot is the kitchen shot, where the guy is sitting on the table and the focus is on his face. Nice DOF, the bokeh and the front (girl) is also blurry = very cinematic shot.

The one thing that didn't excite was the matte effect on all pictures, is this from the adapter? Or is due to Qt codec...?
Somehow the stage / band playing shots seemed clearer and more contrasty than the narrative shots?

Liked it a lot for the most part. The couch scene was super sh!tty looking and really degrades the value of the video to me. I would take it out no matter what you thought it added to the "story line;" it's that bad looking compared to the rest

Well. well done on your part my friend.

lighting was consistant from scene to scene so each scene had its own flare.

The song, well, sucked, im sick of hearing the same song ( type ) remade over and over again. too many bands that sound identical. Just means they wont go anywhere. But thats not your bad ;)

and yeah, id tryto see what you can do about those soft edges. I had the same problem with my ifocus but the problem is being resolved with a CO +7.

keep on going!

Man .. I would LOVE to see a quick establihing shot towards the the beginning. I see a guy on a couch with some people behind him .. then a dude at a table with some people around him ... and a beer cup. It's a party? One quick wide shot would set the table nicely.

Camera shake during non-aggressive parts of the song = unsettling. Think about nailing the crashes and guitar slams with a good shake (like that sweet close up of the ride and floor tom = well done) instead of during the smoothly flowing chorus/verses.

Lookin good man.

Rock.

I really liked the shots of the band playing and the camera shake shots were cool. I didn't like the interior shots as much I think because they lacked color contrast, which is actually just a problem of the location, not your camera work. But as someone said above, I really disliked the song for being as generic as it gets and the singer was annoying to me. again, that's nothing about your production skills, just a lackluster band.
