Brandon, I only wish you could be here. After seeing your work I'd love to have you on the set.

I'll tell ya, it'd be great being there, and seeing how you shoot, and how you frame for your effects and stuff... that stuff fascinates me so much...

John, thanks for that headsup. I am going to try to find that and TiVo it when it runs again!

You definitely should catch it, especially with your film. Did you watch any snake stuff prior to the CGI'ing? I assume you did, but let me tell you something... after watching that show, I swear that I NEVER would have believed that such a large snake could move like this one did. It lunged and tried to bite this guy several times VERY quickly. Stood up about four feet high to do it, to, kind of like a cobra. I tell you, I would have sh*t my pants and been snake food if it were me!

Thanks guys. I'm no Jack Stanley but we sure had fun last night. We're going to pick up again in about 2 hours and hopefully get it all in the can.

Nice! Dude, it was cool watching you direct the wall shot and scare... looks like Jana did a GREAT job for you!

Thanks Brandon. ... Jana was perfect for this project (at least my vision of it). I loved her look and I especially loved the fact that she's such a gem to work with.

Man, I'm worried about being able to complete all the effects now! I think there will be some sleepless nights coming!

She really does have a great look, and looked good on camera.

I am sure you'll complete those effects man. You are the effects monster. heehee.

Mark, loved the BTS stuff. Thanks for putting it up. Though... you would have looked MUCH better in a Dodgers jersey!

Mark,

I think I've mentioned this before but it needs to be said again. You do great stuff (even when it's a bit disturbing)!

When you are planning for your next short keep in mind that I will find a way to get my butt out to the left coast.

New Behind-The-Scenes footage from Day 2 of shooting:

The clip includes some footage showing the setup for shooting the snake attack scene. For a number of reasons I elected to shoot the actress against a white background to pull a luma key rather than a chroma key. We also used a flexible drain pipe wrapped around the actress to provide some reference for the purpose of adding the snake coils in post:
