[size=+2] LA DVXUser Meeting Postponed until Sat. 9/23 @ 3pm!! Sorry guys![/size]

All right, Yesterday's meeting was awesome - Thanks to Kelly and Edwin, the DVXUser Dancers, and even the surprise appearance of the Midgets with Balloons Brigade for brightening everybody's day!!

We discussed what equipment everyone owned and are looking to get in the near future, along with some helpful tips and advice. The main focus of our meeting slash crazy Social experiment was to setup how these meetings might be more effective and everyone can benefit from them, after all this was a prototype! I am always looking for input from everyone interested so feel free to chime in. Any DVX(or HVX in my case)User is invited!

What would be great is if anyone has finished projects, or projects in the works they would like to bring in to show discuss different shooting/editing techniques, hardware used, etc. and give some newbies (like my humble self) a minor ejumikayshun. Also, bring any special hardware you think greatly improved your shoot (ie - 35mm adapters, mattebox system, etc.)Well post updates through this thread.

Bring back the midgets and I'm all over it...

But seriously, I'm around Tujunga and Riverside, so I'd love to have a get-together in this area.

I'm dying to test the Snod35 against and M2, Letus, Brevis, and the rest. So if any of you would be willing to bring your cam, adapter, and a tripod... we could have a little shoot out. If you have a non-DVX cam and no adapter, it would be great to test the Snod35 on the cam as well. Yes, I'm asking for help... and any help would be great.

ruester, I would still like for the Snod35 and the HVX to meet. You don't happen to have a 72mm achromat laying around do you? :) I may just have to slap down the $400 bucks and get one for this.
 
I have the HVX, but someone else would have to bring the adapters, and probably a lense also, I don't have any of that - I suck!
$400 isn't too bad, do they have a good return policy? (wink, wink, lol)

[SIZE=+0]I was thinking that I would shell out the $400 for the 72mm achromat and then just sell it to a good hearted DVXuser type for $360 or so. I would like to keep it, but I have already spent a ton on this dang adapter. I can hear my wife, "so why do you have to have this new lens thingy?". She's awesome. :) [/SIZE]
 
Jeez, we're filming on that weekend. I might be flying out to Iowa to watch
Kevin direct the Black Angel. LA is only a 6 1/2 hour drive. Maybe next time.

Man, I'm going stir crazy. I've been home from my out of town job for almost a month, but haven't shot anything with my HVX yet! My brain is atrophy-ing (if that's a word) I wanted to have something at the meeting to show, maybe I'll just shoot a bunch of footage of my cats playing and edit it together real cheesy with a bad VO like Bob Saget - that'll impress everyone! yay, lol.
Basically what I'm saying is - I'm available for small projects, Parties, Bah Mitzvah's, babysitting, basket weaving, crochet circles...lol

Hey ruester, what's your focus? Are you more interested in DPing, camera operation, or something different?

If you're interested and have any interviewing skills or know anyone that does, I'd like someone to do some BTS interview footage of my cast and myself for the feature we are in production on. I'm in the Valley. Send me a PM and let me know. It'll get you shooting and it'll get me out from behind my darn camera. (Not that anyone really wants me in front of one.)

And I'm in for the meet, I just have to unlazy myself and send an email.
