How do you deal with the poor focal length of a stock DVX100? ("a" in my case) With previous cameras, I would normally have a production assistant hold up a white sheet of paper and I'll balance off that. With the DVX it's like, "Walk in a little closer to the camera. A little closer, a little closer" To the point where the sheet of paper might now be out of the desired lighted area. And what about setting focus off the subject's nose or eye? Not always possible if you're too far back.
I'm just wondering what fellow shooters do in the absence of a perfectly lit white wall. I'm not to thrilled with the thought of buying a telephoto adapter, but I guess it might come down to that.
And on the flipside of my complaining....the DVX has a great wide angle!
