Hey guys, we just posted a new short that we made while in production of The Lifeguard. The short was shot in SD on the FX1 with the letus 35mm adapter. It was made for the Kohls Film Contest so it had to be under 3 minutes, use a specific song, and deal with the theme of determination. It can be viewed from The Lifeguard webpage. Feel free to let us know what you think.

Sorry for the compression, it had to be small in order to post it.

The look on the guys' face when he tries to fly is funy. Don't you have a bigger version? It's pretty hard to evaluate it quality wize on such a small window.

Lol. FUNNY!

The 24p conversion looks pretty smooth. The video looks like, well, video, but I realize it doesnt detract from the story-telling in any form at all.

You can mute the sounds of the video itsself (dragging chair, thudding along the grass etc.) since it disturbs the theme song, and would give a more "music-video" feel.

The problem with posting a bigger version is that the blog tends to freeze when uploading too large a file. I will keep trying though. We actually didn't convert this film to 24p, it is still 60i. Thanks for the feedback!

try rapidshare.de or savefile.com...I used to have a letus35 but I found the footage too soft. It kind of killed HD. I've heard the letus35A is better. Which one are you using?

I'm pretty sure we are using the 35A. We recently used it on another short film that we shot in HD and in good light the footage was fantastic.

Uhhh I'm not the most technical person in the world but I converted it to windows media player 9 at around 150k I think. I don't know if that helps much but its the best I can do because I'm packing up everything for school.
