I'm a lazy person.. I just want to buy a camera that I can use right away, rather than setting things.
Would the SONY DCR-VX2100 be a good cam for me to get?
does the SONY DCR-VX2100 have pre-set modes and stuff?

Please help me make my mind up!!

I heard it shoots great in low light... well what if I'm shooting outside where it's bright? Woun't the footage come out to bright?

yeah the vx2100 is a dope cam i have used it alot. and it you dont want to be lazy and you make sure white balance and all that stuff with setting you can good footage out of it. I really liked it

Just get a good video cell phone. 15 seconds at a time. If your really lazy that should work out good for you.

If you want to make it easier, why don't you just describe to people what you saw. You wouldn't even have to turn a camera on. :2vrolijk_08:

Why not just get a consumer cam for a few hundred bucks if you just want to point and shoot?

I don't think a $3,000 camera is right for you if you don't want to touch the settings and don't know much about video. White balance is setting up what color the camera identifies as white, so if you white balance your camera to a white sheet of paper, you'll get realistic colors. However, if you white balance to a warm color, like to an orange for example, then your images will have a blue tint. On the other hand, if you white balance to a cool color, like a blue, then your image will have a warm, orangish feel to it.

But again, if you just want to shoot some home videos, and get a decent image without touching any settings I don't think the DVX is right for you, kind of overkill.

Yeah, if you're lazy, why are you trying to spend $2000+ on a camera? It's called a professional camera for a reason.

Just go to Best Buy and get you a Canon ZR100 for $300 or something and save yourself the trouble.

I'm lazy too and find that the DVX cant shoot any video unless you set a bunch of different things to a thing other than they were when you got it. Like, I mean, if you take it out of the box and charge the battery and put a tape in and then do stuff, it wont. You want mine?

Haha. This thread is going nowhere it seems. Basically, just go buy a consumer camera and save yourself a lot of money and dissatisfaction. The professional market isn't ideal for "lazy" people.

yes, it does.

but I want pro looking videos...

Then you need to take the time to learn your camera. Start reading posts around here, and before you know it you'll know a hell of a lot.

Hate to break the bad news to you but...

The camera isn't going to make you a pro. You need to do that.

I didn't say make me a pro, I said make my videos look pro.. rather than that home video affect.
