Finally, I have a website. Any comments?

I'll have my friend fix that link soon. So you guys think it should be 800x600?

That's a good size. Most people will be able to see your whole page at that size. It's good that you are able to monitor what size screens people are viewing the site at. I'm assuming you are able to monitor browser, OS, and PC or MAC. Those are good guides.

Technically - As it's been stated, it's too large. It's okay to conform to a 1024 x 768, it's about standard now... but 800 x 600 seems to be your best bet. Your images actually don't take too long to load, but for a high-speed connection that's still a bit long. You may want to slice them or change the resolution.

Aesthetically - Font needs adjusting. The site seems to yell at you as it sits, and not in the good way. The black and white is okay, if you're going to use it I'd say sit and think of more creativ ways to employ it. Integrating your words into the background, making the images look a bit more interesting... those sorts of things. The links are too... standard. Like old school? The clean look is just fine, what say you shift the links around and remove them from the ordinary plane? Not a side-bar, but something a bit more appealing.

That's all I have. Otherwise, neato on getting a site up and going.

nice images!

DAmn, I Love that horse in your contact page. I'm going to pm you about emailing it to me, if that's okay? l love horses.

You need to clean up your resume. It doesn't appear to me that you understand the use of a semi-colon. Same problem with the Business Today reference. I think you are supposed to italicize the name of a show and put it in quotes. nevertheless you are inconsistent.

why do youhave 06/2006 in some places and 7/2006 in others? you need to be more consistent with your style. I know you are going for dp jobs, but your lack of meticulousness on your resume is a soft spot on your website. Details, details..whether it is in a shot from your camera, an editing timeline, or an audio quirk---if you aren't spotting them, that's not good.

You spelled "Fremont, CA" incorrectly. There are many I have not noted.

There is no intuitive way to get back to your homepage from your contact page. Why is your address line all funked out like that on your contact page?

In looking at some of your videos, why are we going to different types of players? With some effort on your part, you can make them consistent and then relieve the viewer from adjusting to different players.

Nice shooting overall. I did not like the first three edits of "Winged Foot House." you have the same pull out on all three.

Great start!

Wow. Way to help out, seriously. That wasn't sarcasm by any means. You're one meticulous lady.

wow, that was some serious constructive criticism. After looking at it, my res DEFINATELY is full of grammar errors and inconsistencies. I'll have to get around to fixing those soon (or getting my wife to do it, since she is a grammar wizard).

Yeah, the multiple players thing. Thats another task. Originally, I had like 5 different formats, now I'm down to two, .flv and .mov. Eventually, they will all be .flv with a built in player on the screen.

Didn't like the first three edits of winged foot eh? yeah, me either. hehe. Most of thsoe samples arent going to be on the final sight. I'll probably end up making a whole new site jsut for the real estate stuff as I don't want it currupting peoples Ideas of my work.

Feel free to PM me with your email and I'll send you the full-rez scan of that horse shot.

You should compress your images more. For example, the guy on the hill on your homepage is 97k. I played with it in ImageReady and got it down to about 25k while still looking perfectly fine. I might play around with it when I get home and show you what I come up with for different things... :)

When I compressed it, it had a significant down-rezzed look.

Yeah, I dont mind if it takes a second to load, it's not a high traffic site, and I really want those pics to look super sharp. Once i get it down to 800x600 that should help a bit too.

PWNG = me mis spelling PWNAGE! Which means you PWN, which in turn means you OWN, which in turn means you rock getting to meet them, which in turn means im jealous, which again in turn means you should go back to New York before i chase you down!

Congrats

I played with it a bit and here's what I came up with. I tried to keep it simple...

If you want something really cool, do it in flash... A lot of sites these days are going to flash. We did a website for this one movie and it looks really amazing. I asked the guy that does the art for everything we do and he said he'd do a site for me for about 4000.

OMG! i actually hit the reply button instead of a quick reply so i could use the smily :

Thats insane, all i really want is like blog style site, it would be cool to able to remotely just post for me and my partner. kinda like my other buddies site:

freakytj.com

i want something like that, sans the spider.

LOL. Yeah, he told me that and my jaw just dropped. But he's REALLY good. Here's his website: http://liquidchrome.net/

What you're talking kinda depends. It can be simple or it can be complex. It sort of depends on how easily you want to be able to update it. But yeah, php would be a good way to go for that... mixed with css and a little xhtml.
