HVX200 in Pal country and FCP

Hi,
If I have a hvx200 PAL I can only edit 1080i/25p footage, right? Are there any workarounds? I tried the demo of P2 Log but I got very strange artefacts with 720pN/50p/25p footage. Any solutions? Does anybody know about an update for FCP.

Regards,

Michael

There were some rumors that the next update would work natively with mxf (and probably also with all pal modes), but it became quite quiet on this, maybe some news with the upcoming ibc..!?

I would assume that all native modes from the PAL camera should be editable in FCP... ? If not, that's a complete disaster.

I've just bought an HVX, yet to arrive... I certainly hope and expect to be able to edit any P2 footage.

Sorry to say you are going to be mighty disappointed. PAL formats of 720P are NOT supported in FCP. We have been waiting months for Apple to get around to sorting this and its the most frustrating part of owning the camera.

There is a work around by purchasing P2log, which has a codec which sort of works OK. I have had good results with it, though the image is garbled half the time.

hi guys - i'm in PAL land, and bought p2 log for $99 - works fine for me - worth it until apple get their act together

You can edit 1080i and 1080p in Final Cut. Also using the pass through codec in P2 log you can edit 720p nativley. So it's not bad news for pal users.

my image is garbled all the time. Looks like if I watch a divx file gone bad. Has anybody else the same issue? Any solutions?
