Well, I'm still an atheist. But the good thing is that the stereotype of lots of Christians being pasty white guys works really well for film lighting. Picks up the tone quite nicely!

I really like religious-based films and seeing how people approach bringing out their message through the film, so I commend you for the effort. That said, I didn't think the lighting was all that great. I'm no expert but it didn't seem like any lighting added to the intensity of the scenes. This is based on my gut feeling because I certainly don't have any great technical advice for you. Also, I thought the acting was overdone. Still would like to see the final movie though as I do enjoy this kind of work.

Hey,

Why are you an athiest?

Sure doesn't pay to be an athiest in this world!

Hey,

I agree faith films are a great thing and I truly hope we see more of them.

Hey i'm a christian so i'll just comment on the image quality alone. The lighting varied - it looked beautiful in some places and flat in others. I especially liked the night scenes. The acting like mistercat said was a bit overdone, but otherwise i think it was a great job!

Oh and i think the fade to blacks got a bit old the 545368903th time you used it...just my 2 cents

Please don’t post any messages on the topics of—politics, religion, or explicit sexuality -- Not that we don’t find these topics interesting—we do, but they’re not appropriate for this filmmaking forum.

c'mon - it's great for you to post your stuff. Please continue to do so, but enough with the evangelicalism. This isn't the place and, no, i was not radically changed. Would you have found it appropriate to say "(muslim warning) you may be radically changed"? Obnoxious.

you got me. i was being sarcastic.

you got me. i was being sarcastic.

some advice (ingore if you like): your message would be much more effective if presented more subtly and with sophistication. imply, don't preach. just because you have been radically changed doesn't mean everything you touch will radically change everyone else.

from what i can tell, this is a movie by someone who practices self-help evangelism made for people who practice self-help evangelism. show it at your church and people will pat your back and congratulate. show it anywhere else, and people will think you're crazy. if you want to convince people of something, master the art of metaphor.

:)

I'm a Christian as well, and while I applaud your effort (and PLEASE keep shooting) I still have to agree with bewillia... Good example of this was the movie SIGNS. I thought I was going in to see a film about alien invansion, but it became more about a former preacher regaining his faith in God... Just some food for thought. But thanks for sharing your work!

Why are you questioning my personal beliefs? Stick to the topic of these forums. I'm sure there are plenty of Christian message boards out there for you to chat up. Last time I heard, Christianity was quite popular :)

I am a Christian, and I agree with that sentiment 100%...

You requested some feedback on the trailer so here's my two cents worth. It needs some action and quicker cuts. It was somewhat boring. The trailer probably wouldn't motivate me to go see the film. The cinematography was fair -- not as bad as some posted on this site, but not as good as others. I agree the lighting looked a little flat.

Here's a more compelling trailer for a Christian film, http://www.8x.com/films/megiddo/

Obviously you don't have this type of budget. But incorporate some excitement in your trailer to provide motivation. Remember, the budget for The Omega Code and Megiddo paled in comparison to that of Ben Hur and the Ten Commandments, but they did a stellar job nonetheless.

Second comment: Every dialogue shot was a close-up of the person speaking. It's like people are talking into thin air. Incorporate an over-the-shoulder shot so you see at least the back of the head and shoulder of who they're speaking to. Not that establishing shots are crucial in a trailer, but they're helpful if they're done quickly.

The concept is great, though. Thanks for posting.

Wow! I didn't think I would have gotten this many comments so quickly. As far as my (radically changed) comment. Whoever said that the you would be changed "religiously" . So its interesting that people quickly jumped to angry conclusions. Would people would have been happy to see. The film is more about the lead character forgiving someone. He finds that forgiveness through Jesus Christ.
