Songbird in Paris - Street Musicians

Hello,

Not too long ago... I posted a video of a Street Musician in New York, I called it Songbird. Since I was going to travel to Europe more or less a month after finishing the video... I decided to film street musicians in the countries/cities I visited. I ended up with one in Paris, France and one in Geneva, Switzerland. I was in Italy as well, but I was unable to find decent musicians. A video that started as a practice for my new HVX200, became like a "Where the Hell is Matt" for me.

Anyways, hope you like it....

EDIT: It seems to me that I didn't white balance the old men at the park.

EDIT2: For who is interested.... here is "Songbird in New York".

I like the Sat, and I love that someone gets to film the muscians. I wish they were around here, I would follow suit.

Very nice piece. The tower timelapse looks sweet. Very nice compositions and pleasant piece. This is the kind of stuff that looks like it was or could have been shot on film.. and I'm just wondering how much better 16mm would have looked... Certainly ya can't beat the price of a bit of electricity to power the batteries... Kind of makes me feel like I've got a film cam without the film cam price... Well Almost!

Thanks for showing! Audio came out really clean as well. What did you use to record?

Very nice and pleasing indeed. What format did you shoot this in? if 1080 or 720, did you shrink it into a 720x480 timline?

Hey thanks for the feedback, and sorry for taking so long.

Unfortunately, not everything is P2card. I had just two 4g P2cards with me for the trip (total of 3 weeks), and no computer to import.

Only a few shots were used with cards (in 720). The following images were the shots I recorded in 720 (image missing: when you see a couple with a photocamera, and closeups of the musicians those were in 720 as well):

For sound I used the Unidirectional XLR Microphone.

Thanks again for the feedback,

Zan

I loved it! What a beautiful city. But I'm most impressed that you were able to keep the file size to 48.7 MB. The image and motion looked great, and the sound was really good too. Could you please tell us what compression settings you used? Nice job!

This video was great - very refreshing - put me right there all over again - I love your use of natural sound and imagery - very nice

:)

Im glad to hear that it wasnt always 720. When I saw the wideshot I was like- **** whats wrong the wideshot, looks like dv. It was.
