Shooting on the back of a motorcycle

Ok, I am going to try and shoot my dvx off the back of a motorcycle. Now I was wondering what is the best settings for shooting over 50mph. Things I need

24p or 24(adv)? And shutter speeds?

Any advice might help I have a week for prep.

thanks in advance

What type of effect are you going for?

I believe 24p or pa depends on your final output. As for shutter speed, it depends on the effect. Slower than 1/60 will give you a more blurry type of motion which might be nice to give a highspeed look. Going faster to 1/120 or higher will start to give a sort of strobe effect which will give you sharper detail, and while it strobes and almost slows down the action, it give a faster look. SO hard for me to explain.

Of course the best advice is to just try all the different speeds before the shoot day. Make sure you slate or say the shutter speeds at the beginning of each take so you know what they are later.

Great, I have another question about the DVXb. Im new to it and well if I use setting 5 the 24p and i change the shutter speed to 1/100. its it still 24p or what?

Yes, still 24p. (assuming you haven't changed/saved the Scene Files - you probably haven't).

If you are interested in seeing different shutter speed's effects on motion, I will be filming some sword training tonight at different shutter speeds. I did this last week but didnt document the different speeds so I dont know what they are. I will be less retarded tonight and will mark the speed changes. I am testing to see how I want to shoot my final fight footage, Seeing the blur and stutter in my stuff might help you see the difference, but it is of course best for your to do tests for your application.
