Wedding video - editing comments on good pointsand where I can improve

She's a cutie.

The edit is nice, too. You might want to feather the still images a bit. Maybe it is just a personal pref. on my part. I was expecting to see some Super 8 somewhere in there. I use Gfilm for montage segments in a lot of my wedding videos. You should check out some of their plugins if you use Final Cut Pro.

I agree about the photos and the feather. Also keyframe the photos to either scale up very slowly or move from left to right. It makes a big difference

EDIT :
Also at 35 seconds there is a jarring cut.
Also at 43 seconds
You might want to dissolve or fade to black

I really like it man, good job! I think this is the kind of montage couples are very happy to see in their wedding video. The only thing that bothered me was the pinkish hue at around 1:35, everything else is very nice =)

Yeah agree the editing seemed nice. One thing though I didnt really like how it had the order of the day out of sync. I would like to see it flow from start to finish. Also I didnt like the bleach bypass at all, just seemed like it was making things seem overexposed.

Hi should mention it was a chinese wedding so the order of the day is as it was the whole day... Chinese ceremony of going to the bride's place first, bringing her home to the grooms, then off to the church.. then reception at night.. guess its just cultural difference...

But thanks for the comments, I agree with the Ken Burn effects on the pics, gotta work out how to do that, and the guy who shot it did not white balance his shots at all hence the pinkish hue..

and i do agree that some of the shots seem bleached and overexposed, but the guy who shot it underexposed some shots so I had to bring it up. might have overdone it abit..

I wasn't too crazy about the different clips in different parts of the screen. I think each subclip should have filled the entire screen. For example, towards the beginning, where we see a box on the right and then a box on the left and then the split screen (:43 to about 1:00). Also, it would have been nice to see some slow dissolves between clips instead of fast cuts every now and then. I think the end should have been a slower fade too. Overall, a very nice job!
