OK, this all looks amazing. You guys seem like your going to do this BIG.

I need one of these drawings on something like parchment paper, signed by the artist. Amazing.

Thanks Brandon! Toby's work is really amazing we're very lucky to have him onboard the project!
Insanityfw email me at SLIDEfilms01@aol.com and I'll see what I can do about getting you that signed copy...there are actually a series of those sketches done by Steve Boulter based on about ten different classic monsters...you can check out more of Steve's work here http://www.epilogue.net/cgi/database/art/list.pl?gallery=14212&genre=

and concept art specifically for Contagion at www.TheCurseofProsperity.com

Thanks

Hi guys,
Glad to see your enthusiasm... Just a quick note after watching the test footage:
-Grace needs some training for holding a rifle properly... (I guess you have a pro weapon trainer that will go over the technics before actual shooting starts...)
-I see some green screen shots... So if you are thinking to use green screen, please keep in mind that DVX(or any other SD camera) resolution will not give you the best results... HVX is perfect for that...
Good luck...

Hey Volcano!
Just giving you a reply to your comment on our test footage! Everything you saw is SUPER early test footage... Grace more then likely won't touch a shot gun in the movie due to some re-writes, but her character is very un-experienced with guns, but we've got a group of very experienced guys already set to work on the film , along with a few who have been on the project for a while.

Also with the greenscreen footage, again that was just something done real quick, it's actually our living room wall O.o so while it's 'greenscreen' any background would have worked :) Just fun promotional stuff. But we will try out a little bit of Blueg\screen footage for special effects. But we will be on HVX as far as I know :)

Thanks for your comment!!!!!!!:dankk2:

Besides... check out my recent post of the Children's film in the DVX clips section. We used a ton of green screen and it turned out fantastic!

Hi Volcano
I think what Nicole was trying to convey is that although the character "Grace" will use a variety of weapons including fire-arms in the film to kill her zombie attackers, in the narrative, the character has little experience with guns, etc previous to the events in the script which require her to weild them. In the "concept" poster where she is holding both a sawed-off double barrel shotgun and a .50 caliber pistol...here's a pic of the blank gun we purchased for those sequences
Graces50cal.jpg

However she never actually uses a shotgun of any kind though she will use the .50 cal pistol as well as other firearms...though in a somewhat clumsy fashion..hey her name is Grace :)
As for the green screen those were actually wardrobe test photos Nicole Shot at her house where she has a green wall...all of this being shown on the thread and the website is material we've produced in the early development and preproduction stages of the project.
We actually have 50feet of bluescreen wall at our production facility...in the town of St. Matthews where we are shooting. We were able to acquire and old National Guard armory outside of town its a quaint 20k sqft on six acres, in my next post I will include some pics but until then here is a funny clip of actor Greg Frucci improving while we we're practicing lighting the bluescreen.

its not perfectly lit in this clip but...Blue screen work is fairly new to us and luckily we've got Mark Johnson of CHOWBABY onboard to do our visual FX and consult with us on lighting our bluescreen etc.
As for the test footage...it was all shot on DVX and was shot and cut quickly within only a few hours. The feature itself will be shot on an HVX with a 35mm adapter utilizing the P2 cards for 1080 rez.
Thanks for your interest, and keep watching the thread and site for updates! We're all very excited about this project!

As a matter of fact we will have 2 US Navy SEALs advising us during filming once it starts... And one of them may be involved in our "boot camp" before filming. :kali:

Just a piece of advice. Take off the scope on the shotgun from picture. It's better without it. Nice shooter by the way. I have the same one, just extended version.

With respect to green/blue screen work, there is no comparison between the results you can get with the DVX and the HVX. This is not a criticism of the DVX, which is a wonderful piece of technology but, instead, is a limitation of the DV format. One of the better summaries of the problem and the ways to attack it can be found here: http://www.neopics.com/bluescreen/

On occasion we have been able to pull fairly decent keys from DV footage but it's a ***** and requires a lot of finesse, masking and choking. I have found that I get much better end results using Primatte keyer instead of the stock keyers in AfterEffects or Combustion.
