3D and Photographt Comparison

Yeah, saw that, pretty impressive. I was talking some people and they say Maxwell is good for Arch stuff, but not there for film quality stuff.

WOW!
That is seriously impressive! You can't tell the difference any more. You can tell they are different, but you can't tell which is which!

- Mikko ... actually looks better when moddled in 2d

well, its good, buuuut, the real ones boxes are irregular, they have deformations where as the CG's have perfect straight boxes (too "clean") look again you'll see what I mean, but still technicially this it proves that the maths calcs for the lighting behave as they should.

Sooo, I tried to replicate the scene:

(ps ITS hard to get the light right!!)

arrrgggg I hate using GI

Vray,

I think I may need to wack the GI intensity down a bit, cuz it looks way too bright..

The worst thing is, light testing takes, hours, even if you tweak some values you have to wait to re-calculate it and my ancient machine takes a good 15-20 minutes

I may re-render it later with some lower light values.

well, had another crack at it:

Can't seem to get the reds and green to be a "moody" colour like in the maxwell tests

That is looking Really good Anhar.
Are you just going from the pictures, or did you figure out a way to get measurements?

There was one picture on that forum where they had the actual measurements BUT it was very difficult to make out the numbers due to the JPEG compression !

the rest was guess work :)

cheers for the kind words, I was tryign to see if I could pull off the same with vray (I think most renders are pretty much the same these days)

Anhar

woah that looks funky! :) what rendering/3d appare you using ? if its vray then post the settings otherwise some other memebers will have to have a look at your settings.
