Yes I'm afraid I have another adaptor.

Ed,

I'm now looking to buy the Cavision support rods and build that lens plate with strap. But I am wondering whether you need a follow focus in addition? If I do, could I build that too, or would I need to buy one? Links to any good models would be helpful.

thanks,

mike

I have been using the indifocus and it has worked great. He is a great guy, and that is always a plus.

Here is a quick test I did tonight. I was testing the DIY GG for the Snod35. I posted it on my "would you pay $30..." thread, but though I should post here also since it all started here with Ed's design.

Also, a quick grab from today:

Edweirdo,

I want to thank you SO much for all the work that you've done here, and for sharing your information so openly for the rest of us.

Are you going to move to a vibrating GG ala Snodart's design when it comes out? You may have read on Snadart's DVD thread that I recently purchased the +7 CO achromat, and the canon 500d +2.

What is the GG in your current design? I stil have to purchase the correct tubes, etc.

Oh, actually, one more important question. Is the achromat eaily removed from the adapter, or is it permamently adhered? I have a still cam I'd like to use it with some times.

Thanks in advance.

You're welcome, but thanks needs also go to DVXuser Policar, the Ed35 is a revision of his design. See the first post in this longass thread for his link.

Yes, as long as there isnt alot of noise from the vibrating motor, I will be making a snod35 when it comes out, and perhaps I will make some revision/upgrades just as Justin made to mine. His results are very impressive though, better then the M2 and Letus stuff I have seen so far.

I also hope to be able to re-use some of that expensive glass I put into my v2 :)

Re: Ed35 v2- yes the CO achromat can be removed from the PVC base, but it may have to be cut (the PVC not the CO). Its so snug it does not need glue, but removing it will be a bit of a chore. If you plan on making an adapter and are using the CO +7 wait for Snodarts DVD and make his. Getting the CO out of my adapter to use in his is possible but a pain.

Now in Ed35 v1.5 the Macro+10 is permanently fixed in the PVC base.

looking pretty good- as you said a little work on exposure but otherwise well done. Glad to see you got a few shots of our monsoon weather, that was my favorite part!

Ed and all,

I am still waiting on my C.O. +7, but my Canon 500D did arrive. What a nice piece of glass! For fun, I played around with it on my DVX100 Classic™ and here is a clip. Sorry it's so large (40MB) but I uprezzed it for fun. Nice shallow DOF from this macro. Some color correction was done in FCP.

Enjoy.

Footage Here.
(RIght-Click and then 'Download Linked File' seems to work better.)

focus..

focus..

hey snodart.. or ed.. or even marlene if your around.. is it just me or is it normal to be almost too zoomed in? i know you have to zoom into the focus screen to achieve focus but i mean.. say im filming a flower.. normally i would be 1 foot from the flower and get a certain frame.. but right now to achiece the same frame i would need to be 5 feet from the flower.. so basically is this a normal thing im dealing with.. im guessing it is..

SECOND... to those using aol dvd screen.. are you finding it best to use a circle. or cut it rectangular. does it even matter? let me know:dankk2:

ok.. so im over this static adapter.. anyone have redrock instructions? or something similar.. i have all my glass..focus screen (aol dvd).. project box from radio shack.. old portable cd player... i know the basics.. but i just need dimensions.. can anyone help?

check out postings by snodart in this forum. he's putting out a dvd for $30 with instructions on building a vibrating adapter. i think he said it will be around september when it's ready. check out his $30 thread as well.

Ed,

Do you have any idea about how to use or modify a follow focus for use with lenses attached via a 35mm adapter?

I had read that IndieFocus found a way to do this easily using screws or something but i haven't been able to find any photos.
