New to boards, new to dvx...

Hello all,

New to boards, new to dvx entirely...one problem. Camera works just fine and I am having a ball getting it setup the way I want it to look (strangely I am going for a more video-TV-ish-hand-held look and not film) and all but one problem which is actually quite repeatable sadly.

When in the off position (unpowered) the camera has this sorta click thing going when moving it around. It works just fine and all but I was just wondering if this is anything to be worried about. Bought it new and everything checks out but wanted to ask and see if anyone knows of any issues with new model (B)'s and having lemons?

Thanks,

I hear the same clunk, even when i'm not holding my camera.

How do I tell the difference?

Hi McGyver,

The clunk noise is normal in the DVX. You can hear it when tilting the camera or just after switching off the power. If I remember correctly, it's something to do with the camera's autofocus. There's no issue to worry about it.

What are you holding when you hear the clunk? Shake your head back and forth really fast and let us know what you hear.

It's OK to hear the clunk sounds when it's OFF. The image stablising mechanism is off and does that. Once it's switch ON, the stablising motors will hold everything togather withiut any sound. You should only worry when you hear these sound when it's ON.

Only found this out from fellow DVXusers. Thanks guys.

You're going to get along just fine.

ah, jeez, not another North Carolinian

If you haven't figured this out yet, answer seriously to this post and ur gonna get toyed with.

Cause the whole planet of B owners know what the click is.
