Frame Grabs with CC critique please?

I figured I'd do my own.

Took me about 2 minutes. And it was a FUN two minutes!
 
Directinglegend, I really dig the desatch look of yours. I think it has a really cinematic look to it.
 
If your curious what I used. It was Vegas.
50% black and white, a simple s-curve, and the bump map.

By looking at it, I would have sworn the S-curve was there and now you confirm that it is. Anyways, looks good.
 
I like that you didn't blow out the cigarette, but you pushed it too far with the browns and brought out too much noise.
 
No I didnt bring out noise at all, I swear, I added some grain and made the blending mode color dodge. I did a simple bleach bypass with some color balancing.
 
What do people have against grain? Good Lord, I think the next generation of filmmakers are going to be digital anti-grainites.

i like the top one....i think keepin CC simple like most things in life is the way to go....ive seen some UNcc'd work by 16 year old's with the cam outta the box and have been blown away.keep it simple.looks good.What kinda cigs are those?ha ha
