Title says it all. Want to sell my Quad G5. It has 4.5 gigs of ram and runs great. Have only had it since around April so it is like new. Please PM with serious offers only. Thanks.
 
most likely id say, big mistake getting a mac within 5 months of WWDC , especially during the intel transition
 
I think you should keep that g5. It is very powerfull. You won't see much of a difference. If it comes the sale I don't think you will get any close to what you paid for since new ones. I would just keep it.
 
What an interesting situation. I thought about making up something about it already being sold so I wouldn't have to hear any crap, but why do that when I can say whats up. After listening and thinking, I have decided to keep it. I made the first post in the heat of the moment after spending the last week and a half on an exhausting shoot (it is still going on but much less stress). MODERATORS PLEASE DELETE THIS THREAD so it doesn't confuse people. I apoligize to potential buyers for the confusion.
 
There will always be a demand for high end macs, even "outdated" ones. I can tell you that in my experience, it is best to wait a bit to sell it. People who have money right now, will want the new one. The value of your Quad is prolly less now than it will be in 8 weeks. If you want to sell it, let the first wave of the new machines get out. What people dont realize about the new machines, is that not all the software is optimized yet and to build a very good machine, you are going WAY over the base price.

good decision...sounds like we all need to wait and see about the new Macs anyway. There are a lot of questions to be answered in the next several months to see what programs are going to work properly with these machines!
