Alexa's website

Hey guys, Alexa asked me to check out her website (Alexa is a longtime member here, used to go by the username "Pooh"). It's cool! If you were wondering where she went or just want to see a site with some style from a fellow DVXUser member, check it out at www.alexalee.com.

Hi Everyone-

It has been fun trying to catch up on board posts and technology changes. When I was last here more often, “Bootcamp” was just about to explode. I think we were still thinking Cinemek was going to be the end of all other adapters and the 4GB P2 cards were the thing to sell your organs for. Funny how time passes. I guess YoungFilmer successfully got terminated once and for all? Lots of new names out there, “poopypants?” Well, I’m no one to comment. Ha! It has been a while. What happened?

Life.

2005 was an exceptional year for business for me, but I ended up with months of editing that I had to get really serious about, fast. The workload took a toll on the significant relationships in my life and by early 2006, I was forced to look at all of that straight on and kick myself for it. HARD.

Over the summer, I’ve restructured my business and outlook on life. I spent so many months earlier this year pretty much cursing my videography “success,” but by June, I came out of it. So, I’m back here, just learning again, and of course, creating new shopping lists all the time! Brian202020, VISA Thanks You! (“Pictures of my HVX/M2”)

My media designer, Adam Cambridge, deserves the credit for my website. I hope you like it. He has superb taste and his trademark is understated and elegant. Let me know if you see some kinks, it is still pretty new. Adam’s company is Cambridge Omnimedia: www.cambridgeomnimedia.com. After a few years of “coding” my own sites, I can tell you, it was a good learning experience, but if you want to play it real, you have to invest! One thing I really learned the hard way as a small business person: Once you can afford to have “experts” work for you, HIRE THEM. Your time is best spent doing what you do best.

Feel free to offer up your comments or questions. Don’t be scared! There are lots of little mistakes poking through my work..you might learn something to find them. Unfortunately, I definitely did!

Of course, now that you've changed your name, this explains much -- I saw a post from "Alexa" earlier, and I thought, "how does someone rack up 1,000 posts and I've never seen her before?"

:)

Very slick site, and way cool videos on there too.

One tad bit of feedback - it would be nice to be able to pause the videos to have time to read the text. The videos are just too good to miss for reading!

The website looks great and if you all didn't see her portfolio vidoe, check it out! There's a shot of her reporting a flood and the bridge behind her collapses. Not to mention reporting some hurricanes. Scary stuff. I think John Hudson and Kimko might have new competition for "Toughest DVXuser". :)

Wild Animals

Wild Animals

I'm editing late tonight. I'll get some responses together soon, but I thought I'd throw this "riddle" out there regarding my site:

Wild animals fly by night
Heard not seen
Shut Up! We scream
Talk, talk, talk too much
"Fix in Post," I say
When or if, tomorrow? Today?

OK, I'm no poet, but join the game if you like.

What is it? Should I kill them off?

Sorry... it's pretty tough to top David Jimerson.

You're alright though, Brandon... and just alright.

Just kidding. I actually just realized that you are the same Brandon Rice as before. I thought you were a new person.

Whoa, this is not James Bond people, this is Jane Bond! Love the site,
sleek.

Alexa-

Very cool site. You have a knack for the journalism gig. And your site reflects what I think you want to portray...a very elegant style.

As for your riddle...I have two guesses.....1. producers 2. deadlines

Other than that, I am pretty stumped...

I CANNOT BELIEVE NO ONE FOUND THIS YET? -the answer to the riddle? It's something on the site.

Last night, I "saw" TC.

TC, you let me down, boy. I thought for sure, this clever little chap will solve the riddle. You probably passed out on Captain Crunch.

No one yet, rlm7189..good try though.

From the first four lines, I'd say, obnoxious movie theater crowds. Doesn't seem to fit with the last two lines, though.
