No Video playback in Xpress 5.2.4!!!

I have xpress pro 5.2.4, on a dual core 3.2 intel with 4gb of ram, and an nvidia 7300, and when i play video in either composer window, only the audio plays, and the video is frozen. I ran avid on an older system with a similar graphics card and had no problem. I dont have a deck attached, and have tried altering the resolution, but nothing seems to be working. Please Help!!!
 
Have you made sure that absolutely nothing is covering any part of the playback window? Before 5.2, if some part of the composer window was covered by another window ( a bin, or the audio mixer,...), Avid would blink the composer window, and refuse to start playback. As of 5.2 ( or thereabouts), if something is covering, even by 1 pixel, the composer window, Avid will start playback, output video out of Mojo or Adrenaline, but freeze the composer window.
 
No, nothing is covering the window, the audio plays, but the video is frozen. When I stop the video, the window changes to the frame I stopped the playback at
 
I'm pretty sure its your graphics card drivers. Update recently? If so roll back. If not roll back anyways.
 
Hi all,
I have the same specs and the same problem with the 7300 and v5.2.3. How exactly did you resolve this issue, and what driver version did you install that works?

Help is appreciated before I go out and replace my graphics card.

I've got the exact same issue on my 4 month old Dell Inspiron E1505 (with 1.8GHZ Core Duo) running Avid Express Pro 5.2.4. I've got the ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 graphics card in it (Driver version 8.205.3.0 dated 2/8/06). Have tried all above suggestions (minimizing Avid, rebooting, etc.) Still no luck getting it fixed....Help!
 
I went on to nvidia's website and downloaded the most current driver, forceware version 91.31. But now everytime vidoe plays on my computer, whether it be in avid, quicktime, or on a website, i get these horizontal lines, almost like bad tv reception. Any advice?
