No original dc cable, how to power up camera?

Hi everyone,

When I bought my DVX100 (used) it did not come with the DC cable (that connects the ac adapter to the camera). Other than buying that part ($70 Canadian :furious3: ), how else can I power up my cam (other than batteries)? I see that there's a 7.9v DC input connector on the back, can I simply buy a cable to plug into it?

Yes. That locking "fake battery" cable is nice, but not necessary...a regular barrel connector works fine as long as you're careful not to yank it out whilst filming. :)

No clue. I jist use whichever wire is handy...

The book says the DVX draws about 9 watts, max. At 7.2 volts, that'd be about 1200 mA (more or less).

Seems a bit high to me, but...if they have higher than 800 mA, it would be a good idea.

Does that work?

I lost my cable (for a period of time...) and tried that with Rat-Shack parts to no success. I saw the cable on your site for ~$8, and that seems like a great deal if it works.
