Announcing The Long Winters documentary: Through with Love

Hey everyone, I've been working on a documentary for the last 9 months or so, and wanted to throw it out here.

Through with Love is a documentary about John Roderick and The Long Winters, shot entirely with DVX100A's.

Don’t miss the ten-minute promo we prepared for Barsuk Records, featuring clips from the band, Ken Stringfellow, Matthew Caws, and John Vanderslice.

The film is slated to start screenings in September and a run at the festival circuit.

More information can be found at the official website: www.dorsiafilms.com

Thanks!

I like what you've captured here, you get a real down to earth feel. It seems as though everyone you interviewed is very genuine, not hamming it up for the camera or trying to say brilliant things. The only thing I noticed is that the sound is a little spotty in places. Sounds like you used the on-cam mic on some of the shots. On others the sound is better (maybe you used a boom on some of the shots?). Overall a very telling portrait!

I agree with Bradbro,
I have interviewed on film about 200 bands and I found they tend to talk about there privetparts and cuss a lot. but then some could play good when they are filmed live. nicely done!

Thanks Bradbro and ARMAND GUERRERO...

I've spent many hours filtering some elements of the audio for the times when the musicians take the lav mics off. They'll put one on, then go play in the studio, then not put it back on afterwards. If I had to do it all over again I'd use a lav and a shotgun as well.

But that said, there aren't too many times that that happened, it's just unfortunate that it happens a few times in the trailer.

Thanks for your feedback, and good luck in your projects.
